This past week I watched a short reel on social media in which a mum talked her daughter through a tantrum and got her to smile…it was really powerful!
The mum encouraged the little girl to breathe in order to calm herself, to say how she was feeling when the sobbing stopped (she gave her space), she honoured how her daughter felt telling her it was ok to feel that way, then asked her how she would like to feel instead and what could she do to feel happy. It worked a treat!
It’s never too late for us to learn lessons… this is a tool we can all use.
When you don’t deal with your pain, your painful memories, they subconsciously affect your behaviour.. and there can be no joy because the memories are still there. You can change that!
